Apartment Review for Somerset Apartments - Fort Collins, CO

I should have known on the first day that living at Somerset would NOT be good. They told me my move in date, I hired movers to be there an hour after I would sign the lease so I would have plenty of time. They didn't have the apartment ready, then the office staff got upset when the movers showed upand wanted to move things in, even though I had told them I had hired them. It took them FOREVER to discuss the lease and all the ridiculous rules (by the way, I would suggest getting a copy and reading it through several times because when you read through it thoroughly, you basically sign your checkbook and your life over to them. I had several professionals look over the lease after I signed it and they were all floored that Somerset was pulling it off). The apartment itself has a good amount of space for a single person or a couple, but don't expect the parking to be as spacious. You'll be lucky to find anything close enough to your apartment after 8 pm. The noise level is horrible; you can hear conversations from your neighbors, doors slam and rattle pictures on your walls, dogs are barking constantly, and they don't trim their trees so it sounds like something is scratching and clawing loudly at your walls. The people below me smoked and it would come up through my bathroom vents and make my apartment smell like an ashtray. The outside appearance is nice and the maintenance guys are nice too, but the main office staff is fake and rude, don't be fooled. They're smiling at you while they screw you over. I consider myself a nice person and a good tenant. I paid rent on time, every time, was quiet, caused no problems, cleaned it nicely before I left. So take my advice and look somewhere else, even if you have to pay more; believe me, it'll be worth it.
