Apartment Review for Parkwood East Apartments - Fort Collins, CO

Arbors at Sweetgrass, Ft. Collins, Colorado aka Parkwood East Where to start? The leasing office secretary is a moron. Hand her your rent check and expect to get a phone call saying you didn't pay rent. She writes important notes on sticky notes that are never relayed to the managers. They leave out sensitive information like your rental application on the desk for 6+ weeks. The managers never call you back regarding anything; overcharging you on rent, repairs, etc. The pool is dirty and covered with fire ants and broken pool furniture. The gym hardly has any functioning equipment. They say the hot tub is open year-round except for last year...and this year. The heater went out in the pool and they said they weren't fixing it because they're building a new pool, that was last summer and they still haven't broken ground on the "new pool". My roof has been leaking for 5 weeks going on 6. And alas still no calls back from the office managers. The maintenance guy informed me that their attempting to get a hold of the owners so they can ok the roof repairs, meanwhile 9 other buildings are having the same problem as me. The maintenance crew half a**es and jerry-rigs their work. Plus they're in charge of snow removal such as snowblowing the sidewalk onto the front of your car!! Love the rock chips in my paint. Called to complain and they said it would never happen again...it happened at least 4 more times. I just don't park my car in front of the building. My personal favorite is my neighbor's dog feces in the front grass on a hot summer day!! They say they've spoke to her and yet it continues to happen on an almost daily basis, and she's the only one in the building with dogs. I've stayed here this long and only in the last 3 years has it gotten this bad, but I can't afford to move. The location is about the only perk. I am completely fed up and am now looking for a house. I can't handle this anymore. In the past few years of living here I've come into the same problems repeating themselves. Gotten to know my neighbors and they all have similar problems. Flooding on the ground levels, jerry-rigged everything from showers to windows. They market this place to look nice, and from the outside it looks great, and the lovely "show-apartments" make you excited and giddy, that's where the fun stops. I highly recommend finding a place to live elsewhere. They promise you a lot and you receive little. Good luck!
