Apartment Review for Library Park Apartments - Fort Collins, CO

This apartment building is in an excellent location and it's a shame that the property management, Home Solutions, is only out to make money while doing the least amount of work possible. They are very nice to you before signing the lease and even swear (verbally) that they will accommodate you in various ways if you have a reasonable request. Once the lease is signed, they just cite the lease to the letter whenever you ask for anything (like, for example, an extra set of keys for a friend to come in and check on your place while you're gone, or not having rent checks deposited before the date written on the check or before the first of the month). By the way, the lease is basically abusive, claiming that you cannot have overnight guests unless you have permission in writing from the landlord for each night's stay. It's like living in the dorms for way too much money. Also, my own apartment has had a faulty flush ever since I've moved in, and it's never been repaired properly. They will do some work on your apartment in the very beginning, and only if you ask for it, and then they will spend the rest of the time reminding you that they did you a favor simply because they gave you an apartment that looked just like the model unit they had showed when you applied (of course, it was the unit that had been completely remodeled). The building is not safe. Once I found a homeless person sleeping in the hallway, and each unit's entrance door can be propped slightly open very easily, as there is no bottom lock. The building's common areas are also fairly dirty, as there seems to be no maintenance person coming in regularly. There is often illegal activity going on in the building (drug-dealing, heavy-handed marijuana smoking that leaves a thick smell throughout the building and which even follows you into your own place), but the property management doesn't seem to be too concerned about it. In short, stay away, unless you are really really laid back and have lots of money to waste.
