| I've lived at Pinecone for 2 years now, and am anxious to leave.Compared to other apartments in Fort Collins, it's above average, but it still has a lot of problems. First the good points:The inside of the units are new and are kept very clean. Each time someone moves out, management goes all out and replaces all of the rugs, puts in new paint, and basically make it so there are no signs of theprevious tenants. You won't find any bug problems or broken appliances here. The office staff is very friendly and available. Now, the bad points:There aren't enough parking spots, and due to the location there basically aren't any overflow parking options in the surrounding neighborhood either. The complex is located along a busy road that is far away from the heart of town.Traffic for the new Timberline Church that is next door always causes traffic jams. The high school that is next door results in waves of teenagers coming over here, and the daily high school marching band practice is VERY loud. The fire department across the street means that there are often sirens blaring at all hours. Not to mention the fact that the police get called to come to the apartment complex itself all the time.Much of the complex has inadequate lighting at night, making it a scary/dangerous place especially for women after dark.Smoke and odors travel through the ventilation system from one apartment to the next, which is very annoying if you are not a smoker, but the people below you are, since your apartment will fill with their smoke. The mail is unreliable and important things like bills are often delivered to the wrong apartment. The phone lines (at least in our apartment) have become faulty this past year. Most of the residents are inconsiderate about the noise they make, and management does not inforce quietness at all.It is only the high prices/location that keep away most of the loud student party crowd.Snow & ice removal is rarely done. And lastly, the management suddenly decided this year to paint the entire complex a yucky, depressing color. Compared to all the unpleasant management, old, insect-infested, full-of-partying-students apartments that are found throughout most of Fort Collins, Pinecone Apartments is a very nice place. In fact, compared to most Fort Collins apartments, it's above average. But it still has a lot of problems.I would in no way say this is the best place ever, but it's not too bad. |
